Log onto the CIMScan server from anywhere using a simple web browser and our User ID and Password. You will immediately see the easy to understand page similar to the one shown below.
Any monitoring points that need your attention are displayed in the grid at the top of the page (the Alarm List). All of the points for the group are displayed in the lower grid. Select one or more points and and display a chart of their values plotted over time. SERVER NAVIGATIONA multi-group status page [1] would have been displayed for users that have been given access to more than one group. The page is similar to the page described above except that the alarm list contains the monitoring points in warning or alarm from all the groups. You can click on a specific group to to move to the status page for that group [2].
ACKNOWLEDGE ALARMS & ENTER NOTESUsers can acknowledge alarms and provide an assignable cause by selecting one or more points in the Alarm List and then choosing "Acknowledge Alarm" from the Actions dropdown list.
User can enter free-form notes and link them to one or more database points using a similar technique. GENERATE REPORTSThe following built-in reports are provided with each CIMScan-server. Each report can be generated for a specific group over a user-selected period of time.
Users can easily generate their own custom reports using any one of the third party report generators available today. Download a white paper describing the available cimscan reports in detailADDING SENSORS & CONFIGURING GROUPSCIMScan system configuration begins by creating one or more groups that will receive the sensor data. This is typically done by department. Sensor measurements are received from the monitoring stations along with the unique serial number of the sensor and the time the measurement was taken. The server uses the serial number to determine which group is to receive the measurement data. If no group is associated with the serial number, the sensor is placed in the unassigned list. A Group Administrator can assign one or more sensors to his or her group by simply logging onto the system, opening the unassigned list, and selecting the desired sensor(s) by its serial number. Once selected, the administrator can enter a name and a location for the sensor and select the sensor’s type. This will establish the alarm limits, units of measure, and other important information. Group Administrators are also responsible for initially creating user accounts. Once they have been created, the users are responsible for changing their passwords and updating their contact information (email address, telephone number, etc.) and how they are to be contacted based on the day and time. |
